I can’t believe the year has flown by so quickly!
December's arrival often triggers somber musings. What I wished happened. Books I should have finished. [You fill in the blank.]
Our thoughts impact our mental, emotional and physical health more than we realize. So I invite you to try something different with me this year.
Plan 10-15 minutes for yourself. Choose a specific day and time in or outside your home where you can focus and reflect. Set a timer if you need to.
Think about 2018. What did it teach you through the highs and lows, stresses and calms, joys and disappointments?
Here's the pivot. As you write down the lessons, instead of saying:
- I'm too busy, behind and stressed. I can do much better. SAY
- I’m learning to create healthier boundaries. I will be more patient with myself and my process.
See the difference?
Next, write 3-5 things for the following:
- What will you leave behind in 2018? (fear, negative self-talk, distractions.....)
- What will you pursue in 2019 in light of the above? How will you fulfill those intentions?
Get creative with it! Write a letter to your 2018-self, fears, doubts, etc.
Kickoff 2019 by extending kindness to yourself, remembering that learning is part of the journey!
